Description of Works:
The supply and installation of 54 No sheet piles, consisting of L605A piles 6.0m – 12.5m long to form 2 No permanent retaining walls along the top of the existing railway embankment at Seven Kings Station to enable the construction of a new pedestrian foot ramp.
Piles were installed using an SG-75TR Movax vibratory hammer on a Komatsu PC350NLC-8 35t 360o tracked excavator. The excavator also used an excavator mounted rotary auger drive and set of auger flights to pre-auger prior to pile installation.
In addition, a Komatsu PC350LC-8 35t 360o tracked excavator complete with an HR 2750 Fambo hammer was used for percussive back-driving of piles following vibratory installation.
