We’ve split the team this week and a few of our guys have been using a Movax to drive piles into very firm earth at another site in Oxford for Carillion Rail.
The job involves the installation of 62 6m long single piles to form two permanent retaining walls for the east and west head walls. A further 217 piles of varying lengths are stacked and ready to form temporary cofferdams and a catenary system.
Hard ground has slowed things down a little bit and the guys have found a family of swans enjoying the view from the river bed.
We’re grateful to our friends at Tomato Plant for manoeuvring some equipment hired from the wonderful crew at AGD around the site this week.
